Recycling
Our Packaging & the EU Packaging Regulation (PPWR)
Designed to protect our pedals, grips and accessory sets. Developed with sustainability in mind.
High-quality bicycle pedals and bicycle grips are precisely manufactured components that must be reliably protected during bearings and transport. At the same time, we want to keep the packaging required for this to a minimum.
At TATZE, we continuously work to make our packaging resource-efficient, functional and suitable for recycling - without compromising the protection of our products.
Our principle:
As much paper and cardboard as possible - as little plastic as necessary.
We prefer to use paper and cardboard for our packaging and reduce plastic wherever it is not absolutely necessary for product protection or reliable packaging.
In doing so, we pay particular attention to efficient use of materials, recyclability and the simplest possible separation of the individual packaging components.
Our Packaging and the PPWR
The European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (EU) 2025/40 - abbreviated PPWR - establishes uniform EU-wide requirements for packaging and packaging waste.
The regulation applies from August 12, 2026 and introduces requirements for packaging design, recyclability, material use, labeling and consumer information, among other things.
At TATZE, we align our packaging solutions with the applicable requirements of the PPWR and continuously work to further reduce the use of materials and the environmental impact of our product packaging.
We consider not only the packaging during transport, but also its separability and correct sorting after unpacking.
Which Materials Do We Use?
Depending on the product, the packaging may consist of different materials.
These include, for example:
- Cardboard - for product packaging, outer packaging and inserts
- Paper - for protection, interlayers and other packaging elements
- PET / LDPE film or polybags - where flexible product protection is required
- EPP - for certain protective or packaging elements
- Adhesive tapes and labels - for securing and labeling the packaging
- Strapping bands for shipping cartons
The exact composition may vary depending on the product.
We therefore provide information on the packaging materials used, the corresponding material or recycling codes and the recommended sorting method for our products.
HERE you will find an overview of the materials used.
Please Separate Before Recycling
After unpacking your TATZE products , please separate the individual packaging components from one another as much as possible.
Cardboard and Paper
Please separate cardboard and paper from other materials and dispose of them according to the local collection system for paper and cardboard.
Plastic Packaging
Please separate plastic films, polybags and other plastic parts from paper and cardboard as completely as possible and dispose of them according to the local collection system for plastic packaging.
Combined or Mixed Materials
If different materials are permanently joined or cannot be readily separated from one another, please observe the local waste-sorting requirements.
Important: Collection and recycling options may vary depending on the country and municipality. Therefore, please always observe the local disposal regulations.
Less Packaging. Less Material. More Recycling.
Our goal is to package our products safely while keeping the material required for this to a minimum.
We reduce unnecessary packaging components, prefer paper and cardboard wherever technically practical, and use plastic selectively where it provides a functional advantage for product protection.
At the same time, we want to ensure that the packaging materials used can be identified, separated and directed to the appropriate recycling streams as easily as possible after unpacking.
You can support us in this.
After unpacking, please separate the packaging from your TATZE products into its individual material groups and dispose of it according to local recycling and disposal regulations.
